Winty School
Winty Scuola is a project involving some 50 primary school classes in the Locarno region.
The initiative celebrates creativity, eco-sustainability and the Christmas spirit, offering children the opportunity to actively contribute to Winterland. This project is made possible thanks to the support of our Energy Partner, Emanuele Centonze SA, who strongly believed in its mission.
Objectives and activities
Winty Scuola represents an important opportunity for children to socialise and be creative. The classes involved decorate Christmas trees using sustainable or recycled materials such as coffee capsules, PET bottles and cotton buds. These decorations, the result of the students’ creative work, contribute to making the Winterland village even more special.
The decorated trees will be displayed along Via Rusca, from the Castello Visconteo to the beginning of Piazza Grande, for the duration of the event. Once Winterland is over, the trees will be entrusted to the care of a farmer to ensure their health and future reuse.

A special day in Locarno
The participating classes will spend a day in Locarno, starting at the Palacinema with an introduction to the audiovisual world and the screening of a Christmas film, thanks to the collaboration with CISA Film Academy, Locarno Film Festival, Ticino Film Commission and Enjoy.
Afterwards, the children will head to the Winterland Pavilion on the Piazza Grande for a free lunch and an hour of ice skating. The day will end with a walk along Via Rusca to admire the Christmas trees they have decorated themselves.
